even though the Euro is extremely high I think that you will get an overall cheaper deal skiing in Europe compared to North America if you are coming from Israel. However, North American skiing has some big advantages over Europe and the experience will be totally different and new to you. Also you might consider doing some traveling other than skiing. I can not be much help to you with ticket prices from Israel to North America (arriving in New York would probebly be the cheapest), but I can give you a good idea for how much it will cost you flying from New York. 

 There are four places that I would recommend skiing in North America; Denver - Colorado, Salt Lake City - Utah, Northern California - Lake Tahoe area or British Columbia - Canada. The best skiing deals will be after New Years (January 2nd) and before President Weekend (February 18th). The flight to British Columbia will be the most expensive and the weather in Whistler/Blackcomb can be a problem in January - best time is in March/April. So that leaves Colorado, Utah and California. You can buy round trip air for $250 - $200 from most major east coast cities to Denver, Salt Lake City or Sacramento flying either JetBlue, Frontier, Southwest and or others airlines. Than I would try looking at the ski resort web-site to find package deals (lodging, meals & lift tickets), however if you can not find the price you are comfortable with you have other options (even in Vail). You can stay near the ski resort at a motel (50$ a night), lift tickets will be about $50 to $70 per day - and if you are skiing 5 or more days you can get better prices. Eating can get as high or low as you want. There is always fast food (Mcdonlas Etc), supermarkets and cheap resturaunts. There are a million different options, but the most important issue will be the price for airline tickets to North America.

 If you are serious about skiing here do not worry so much about the details right now, just get the cheapest ticket you can find from Israel to New York and you can plan where you will ski later. There are always last minutes package deals and you may decide where to go based on the snow conditions. I do this all the time I sometimes make my decision days before my trip and I always get a great deal. Traveling in the States is very easy. This is very general information, once you decide to come I can help you with the specifics.

 Flight - round trip from East Coast city $250

5 day lift ticket - ski pass $250 - $300

Car Rental 7 days $200 or shuttle bus $80 round trip per person from airport

Cheap Motel 6 nights $300

Food & Drinks 7x $40 $280
