”Transportation in Cuba cities“
All info is according to our trip on 5-6/03 In the city, you can use several types of transportation: taxis - state owned taxis are the most expensive. They are usually new cars with a taxi sign. Private taxis are cheaper. They have a taxi sign but are older cars. Illegal taxis are the cheapest. You cannot recognize them until they offer you a ride. These are the cheapest. You can bargain a price with all types.
In Havana and other major cities, you can find coco taxis which are a yellow vespa with place for 2 passengers. You can also get a bici-taxi which is a bicycle. It is not cheaper than a taxi and very slow. We do not recommend them, but sometimes you cannot find anything else
