”היכן מומלץ לקנות אוכל ותרופות באוסטרליה?“
1. The cheapest supermarkets are ``woollworth`` (only in Melbourne it`s called ``safe-way``) and ``coles``. woollworth sell products under their brand and another, which is called ``home brand``, for really cheap prices, and they produce pretty much everything under these brands. coles also produce almost anything under their Rule: always look for the daily deals - they change prices everyday and the sales are really good!!! they put a note next to every product with a good value and there`s good deal on 1 specific product of almost any product group. I`m not sure I made myself clear so I`ll give an example: of all the peanut butter products, everyday you`ll find a great price for 1 specific peanut butter product - say, 350ml Kraft (or 500ml home brand). Is it better?
2. Having say this, fruits and vegetables are extremely expensive even in those places (after almost buying a banana - one banana - for 3.9 AUD!!!!), so the best thing is to ask about the local markets. Paddy`s Market in Sydney is a great example for place you can buy fruits (fresh & dry), vegetables, fish and meat for a great price. for example, 1KG of tomatos=1$, broccolli=40 cents, and so forth. I bought 2 medium size stakes for 2.8$ ($=AUD), and I had a meal of stake, asparagus and carrot for les than 3$ - how great is this? In woollworth it probably was at least twice as much and on the street - at least 15-20$.
3. best value pharmacy brand (pharmacies are called ``chemist`` here) is ``price line``.
4. you`re on vacation - try not to think only about the money and treat yourself from time to time :-)
