”מידע על איי הפסחא“
Well, I`m actualy living on Easter Island for almost a year now.
People think about Easter Island (or Rapa Nui) as a small Island which has nothing more than Rock Statues, but this is not true. There are MUCH more things to see here:
* Hundreds of caves, some with Petroglyphs, some still with human bones burried inside, some for the ancient use of houses, and some just natural caves.
* Thousands of Petroglyphs all around the Island. Almost every 5 rocks you find one with Petroglyphs. These are of many motifs, such as: Sharks, Humans, Birds, Bird-Men, Geometric Symbols, Chicken, Faces and much more.
* Beautiful Rapa Nui and Polynesian dance Style which is shown by two principal dancing bands called: Matato`a and Kari-Kari.
* Excelent Sea-Food restaurants (the Rapa Nui people are Fisher-men by nature).
* Ancient archeological sites, houses, storage buildings, underground tunnels, Chicken-houses, etc.
* Rock art Paintings covering Caves` walls and rocks.
* Amazing ladscapes of Volcanic hills and craters covered with grass and lots of kinds of plants.
* Blue lagoons which fill some of the craters where you can swim at any time of the year.
* A marvelous aquamarine ocean which surrounds the Island where you can surf, dive to beautiful corral reefs or just swim for your pleasure.
* 3 main little Islands, 2 kms to the south of Easter Island, where you can relax from the big Island itself.
* A wonderful tropical climate which gives you Banana, Pine-Aples and Guayava during all year.
That`s why I like this place :-)
