”Tajin - פארק ארכיאולוגי“
The archeological site Tajin in the state of Veracruz near the gulf coast is the most preserved of the ones I`ve seen in Mexico. It has many many piramids, not just one or two like in the other sites, and they are in good shape too. Everywhere you look you see piramids. This makes you feel that you are in a city and not just one building here one building there.
To get there you have to take a bus to Papantla, which is the closet town to the site. You can also go to Poza Rica, it is close too. From these places you take a local bus to Tajin.
On the way back you can stop in Xalapa and see the anthropological museum, which has the biggest collection of Olmec giant heads. They also have nice findings from Tajin and an interesting collction of smiling faces of the Totonacs (this is the Indian tribe who built Tajin).
