Karajia is a site of sarcofagos of the Chachapoyas culture. The sarcofagos are in the shape of warriors, they are made of mud and painted in red, grey and white. On top of some of them there is a skull. They are placed in the middle of a cliff where they are protected from the rain, this way they were preserved. The site is small but impressive. The entrance is 3 soles.

 How to get there:

Take a combi from Chachapoyas (half a block from the market) to Luya - 5 soles. From there take another combi or auto to Cruzpata - 3-4 soles. In the plaza of Cruzpata is the ticket office and a small improvised site museum. From there it`s 20 minute walk to the site.
