Be very careful on Big corn island! Lonely beaches, especially long bay which is the eastern beach and the beach which is more to the southeast are the most dangerous. Me and a friend of mine where robbed by 2 guys with machetas (!) from long bay which were probably just kids from the houses on the nearby hill as we were told but still is very dangerous.
Also, especially if you live on one of the beaches without light - like staying in the casa blanca - or if the electricity goes out in the streets - dont take a chance, use a taxi from place to place if you want to go out and eat.
