In Banks Peninsula, a small French colony, very pastoral and beautifull views on the way from Christchurch (1.5 hours drive). There is Dolphin watch/swim. Take the watch, you can see ALOT better from the boat (they don`t get too close to you anyway) and it`s 35$ instead of 80$ for swim. Go to Akaroa!
