: תגובה שקיבלתי: Azerbaijan Baku is not the best place for cheap and good accomodation. There`s the central and horror-movie like Canub which has run-down rooms for 12 $ and refurbished quite nice ones for 25 $. The newly opened Velotrek, situated around Baku`s velodrome (you indeed wake up the sound of bicycles!), has clean rooms with wc, shower and tv for only 10 $, the only drawback being its location far from the centre near the avtovokzal (bus station). Nevertheless, it`s just a few metres to the 20 Janvar Metro station so it`s no problem reaching the centre. Most backpackers stay in the Araz. The prices start around 10 $ I think. It`s far from the centre and I haven`t tried it. The monstrous Azerbaijan has rooms for 25 $. It is not recommended. The identical Absheron, just across the Azadlig sqr., has rooms from 60 $ which are not worth the price.

Hotel Araz Y Seferov kuchesi 30 (the spelling is somewhat different in Azeri because of their strange letters) tel (12) 905063 Marshrutkas no 1, 4 and 131 go to the hotel from the city centre.

Circus Hotel behind Baku circus, off Samed Vurgub kuchesi tel (12) 949509 it`s around 10 dollars and supposedly oddly charming but not really recommended
