”Gold museums in Chiclayo“

There are 2 museums in the Chiclayo area that show the gold and jewlery that were found in tombs in the area. One is the Museo Tumbas Reales de Sipan (royal tombs of Sipan) in the town of Lambayeque. You can get there by combi from Chiclayo, 0.80 sol. The museums show the jewlery found in the tombs in the archeological site Sipan, and reproduction of the tombs and of the Señor de Sipan alive wearing all his jewlery. You can also visit Sipan itself, another combi from Chiclayo - 1.50 soles, you can see the real tombs with copies of the skeletons and jewlery. But the museum in Lambayeque is much better. Note: There is another museum in Lambayeque called the Bruning museum, I don`t recommend it, so don`t get confused between the 2 museums.

The second museum I recommend is the Museo de Sican in the town of Ferreñafe, combi from Chiclayo 1 sol. Don`t confuse Sican with Sipan, it`s another site. The museum shows the jewlery found in 2 tombs in the archeological site of Sican and reproductions of the tombs. The tombs themselves were covered after they were excavated, so it`s impossible to see them, although it is possible to visit the site, it is in the Bosque de Pomac near Batan Grande, but it is not interesting.

To each museum the entrance is 7 soles, or 2.50 soles with student card.
