Cusco, peru, 5 september 2011, many ways to explore Cusco&m achu picchu. i chooze the easy ways, some by my self and some by "inka world peru". The 10 days boleto touristico (130 sol) eanable me to have a look a little beat deep inside the inka culture and try to have the test of the past by the nation, histiric and culture museum in the center of the city and by listenning to the tour guides. First i chooze the city tour (25 Sol), usually the boleto cover all
the interance fees. I visited Korichancha wich is the indoor golden temple up to 900 years ago and has good view down to Cusco. Qenqo is also a holly site but it is part in the nuture and was choozen by the inka people for a pray and as an undergourd place to put the body of a respected dead people.Tambomachay is also an outdoor site, some parts of houses and part of te watching tower, it was choozen due to the spring still running there.
The most empressive site is the Sacsayhuaman, it a city with huge aquare and has a
woundefull view of all Cusco. Several alpacas are eatting the grass, and here is the opportunity to get them in the wilde field.
The other day i chooze tour the valley sagrado in one full day, it running along a river about 200 km long and few kilometer wide. Down along the river many "new" sities were built in the last 200 years, but up the mountains where you meet the inka way they are many inka old cities. like in Calca, Urubamba and more connected still by the old inka way.
Pisaq and Allantaytambo are two of the most impressive sities of inka at least 500 years ago.
The view pont down to the valley is also one of the important reason to be there.
The difference of the architecture beetween the houses and the temples, give you idea
how they respect the religion way of life.
The inka site in Allantaytambo is a short distance away of the new city as well as the
train station (here is also a good reason to arrive machu picchu by your self).
If you don't have much time you can give up this tour, but when you arrive the city fron Cusco by the public private car to get the train (12 sol) you may take your time to visit
the inka site here. To visit this site you have to climb by comfortable stairs, but since it really high you need a strong muscles and long breath. Take at least 2 hours for explore the area
it is interesting to know how they roll the havy stone over here from far away. And how they
unfinished they work bcause the fights wich make them go with no come back.
To explore Machu picchu it is easiest to get by train to Agua calientas from Allantaytambo
(80 us$ go and back 15:30, look my tip) although some do it by 3-5 days trekk or by 3 public buses driving therm for 19 hours.
like the other inkas cities also Machu picchu is a point to used by the inka way.
this city used for since and researching the astronimical elements.
Getting early in the mornning, before sun rize from your hostel in Agua calientas is mainly aimed to feel the test of life long time ago in machu picchu but also to avoid you
stay too much time under the heat of the sun. When you get there, you can easilly find a guide (15-20 sol) for 3 hours guiding with more 4-5 partners and take your time for more
1-2 hours stay by your self. Some like to go back all the way down to Agua calientas by walk
(1-2 hours) instead by the only and specially buses (40 sol go and back ), some pay for interance to the next mountain to have they trekking full day,
this way up need a steep climbing. Some peaple also like to visit the hot springs 4-5 hours a way of Agaua calientas. The view from machu picchu arereally the most impressive than all the other views from inkas sites but the interance fee is really expensive (126 sol).

Vising Cusco without know the culture or history by the museum is really unworthwhile,
but to complete your knowledge use your boleto and go to visit the theature for
experience a great range of traditional dancing and musig from all over villages around
Cusco. At least one hour on 19:00 every day give you a good unforgetable time in Cusco .
Also having your dinner in a local retaurants can give you a good gastronomic experience
about the favorite local traditional food. In one of the corners of San francisco square
you can meet a clean and high quality food (right and next block to Pirwa hostel).
The weekend market in San franciscosquare is also a good opportunity to meet the traditional
dress of the Peruvian Cusco people adukt and children as well.
