1. internet - on 810 george street, Sydney, there`s a travel agency called ``wanderers travel`` (very close to central station) - people with VIP/YHA cards can get free access to the internet between 10-12 am, every day (great computers, messenger. don`t have skype though). 

2. mobile phones - Vodaphone offer a deal called ``maxi cap``. you buy their sim card and recharge it with 49 AUD and recieve 230AUD credit. the catch - it`s valid for a month and you only get 20 minutes of international calls. BUT - there`s no limit on SMS, both to Australia and Overseas ( i.e. Israel...). and no limit on calls in Australia - say for booking accomodation, stay in touch with friends, etc.
